These ironic t-shirt designs made me laugh. Almost so much so that I would actually wear one.
Also, I’m not a big fan of Busted Tees and I’m sure this is already on its way for mass Urban Outfitters’ production, but you can’t deny how good it is. I can see strangers coming up behind you to rock the Guitar Hero. Gives a whole new meaning to the term “reach around”.

American Gladiators is back! NBC announced the return of the late-80s, early 90s show. In fact, you can try out to be a gladiator this month. I loved watching this as a kid, but fear that the modern version won’t have the same cheese that made it so good. I mean, where are you going to find a guy like Malibu?!

Visually gorgeous yet completely fucked-up, we’re all about this new video from Baltimore-based Animal Collective, ever since we learned that CU-friend and actor/singer/songwriter — Sarah Nischwitz — is featured throughout.
Nice grille, girl. Gotta give it up for the redheads before they all go extinct.
Animal Collective’s new album — Strawberry Jam — drops September 10th, with NYC tour dates:
[TIX] :: Sep 30 :: Webster Hall
[TIX] :: Oct 01 :: Webster Hall
[MP3]: Animal Collective ”Peacebone”
Click through for a CU-exclusive production still from the video shoot.

Today was one of those days when I woke up and didn’t want to get out of bed. Actually, everyday is like that, but today I had zero motivation. After repeated snooze button clicking, I dragged my ass out of bed and braved the rain like the rest of you.
Instead of “indulging in melancholy” (thanks Zach) with this mix, we decided to pick more uplifting songs because we’re gonna need it. Rain until Thursday, at least. Enjoy.

Thanks to everyone who made it out to FRICTION on Saturday night. It was a great night of live music thanks to solid and tight sets by Office, The Teeth, The Capitol Years, and Bell.
We’d like to thank all four bands for being a part of the show along with DJ Lauren Flax who kept the party going in between sets. Check out our Flickr page for photos from the night and head over to Music Snobbery and The Culture of Me for more pictures and reviews.
FRICTION will be back at The Mercury Lounge on September 20th celebrating TWO YEARS of the party with Die Romantik, The Most Serene Republic, The Blacks, and one more TBA. Full details to come soon.

The music and actors are pretty cheesy, but this video is pretty f*ckin’ cool.
