I’ve been working on my fingerpicking skills lately (real basic Travis stuff), but classical and flamenco are at a whole other level. I’ve was always been impressed with Rodrigo Y Gabriela’s ability to implement these styles with perfection and flavor. Orginally playing thrash metal, they’ve grown into a fast, rhythmic acoustic duo with classical and rock influences, including covers from Led Zepplin and Metallica.

I haven’t been out to see them yet, but I hear they put on an amazing show. That’s why I was eager to see them close-up in this live video they did for MTV. You can check them out here in NYC at the Roseland on October 19th. Tickets go on sale tomorrow (8/31) at 11AM.
