Yesterday, Pitchfork called Gui Boratto’s debut album, Chromophobia, “one of the three or four best artist-albums to bear the Kompakt stamp.” Having cut my Boratto teeth on 2005′s “Arquipélago” and last year’s “It’s Magic,” I was pretty stoked about his debut on Kompakt.
The first song I heard off of Chromophobia was the German microhouse track “Beautiful Life,” which completely BLEW ME AWAY, exceedingly better than anything I’ve heard from the Brazilian architect, producer, musician, and composer. Those blissful synth tones make it a really easy song to love and they’re sure to instantly brighten up your day. Highly Recommended!
